When Howard's father is stricken by an evil alien entity, Howard, Spot and Constable Smith must race to a secret government base in Antarctica to seek out the one man who can save his life.
Howard Lovecraft and the Kingdom of Madness is a graphic novel for all ages. Being a horror fan, I like all things related to H.P. Lovecraft and when offered to review a graphic novel involving Lovecraftian themes; I jumped at the chance.
While the story is a bit tame, it is chock full nods that Cthulu fans will spot. The story by Bruce Brown is refreshing and never wavers. This is a continuation of a series, but it also works as a stand alone story.
The artwork by Thomas A. BoatWright looks great and lends to the story well. It has a more classic feel than newer graphic novels, but again it works well here.
For newcomers to Lovecraft veterans, "Howard Lovecraft and the Kingdom of Madness" is an entertaining read. Be sure to check out "Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom".
