Five Sentence Fiction - Blush #FSF

This is a continuation of last weeks FSF-Night

Blush

The new world was no different from before, to Annie it was all the same; good versus evil and her sword, the only justice.

Traveling the world with a caravan of survivors provided her with solace and companionship; In search of normalcy, the group treks from one state to another looking for survivors, resources, and to destroy the creatures that now plague them.

They set camp up in the remains of The University of Texas; local survivors had done well to patch it up, making it livable but the security was abysmal.

During the second walk through of the area with camp leader Brock Alden, Annie could visualize the surroundings and knew they were sitting ducks; "You didn't mention any lights, Mr. Alden", she said, knowing what his answer would be she continued on, "You didn't mention them because there are none."

Aware of her rudeness, she began to blush; "I'm sorry for my outburst, but I know these monsters and even though my sword is sharp an attack now would be disastrous."

Five Sentence Fiction"Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction. " via Lillie McFerrin Writes
