Summary:
The Indiana State Fair ushers in chaos for Vance Lee Gentry,a striving country music singer. The death of his soundboard guy and best friend Mix set's in motion a fantastical adventure that could kill him or blast him into the spotlight.

What's not to love about "Turning Silver Into Platinum"? It has country music, sideshow freaks, death, and much more. I'm usually not into wizards and all that but the protagonist Vance Lee Gentry drew me into this tale. While reading he reminded me of  Willie Nelson but not as much as a hippy as Nelson.

I'm not going to delve into the story as it would ruin the experience. I'll say this it's a wild and fun read. Bain's signature writing style is in full force again which help bring the setting and details to life. I'll end by mentioning that "Turning Silver Into Platinum" is not my favorite book by David Bain but it's well worth the price of admission.
